WHAT TO EXPECT

No two births are the same, just as not two people are, and you deserve a plan that fits YOU. 

Whether you are preparing to birth in your own home, a birth center, or the hospital, it is important to know the choices that will be available to you when the big day comes. Identifying your preferences ahead of time can:

  • Prepare you for the Great Unknown of birth by walking through different scenarios.

  • Give your partner the confidence needed to support and advocate for your desires. 

  • Help you gather the information you need to make educated and intuitive decisions. 

  • Invite open and honest conversations with your care providers.

Let’s work together to craft an individualized birth plan that reflects your values, priorities, and any special considerations you may have. Your birth partner (whether that be spouse, significant other, friend, or other family member) is highly encouraged to join. During your two-hour session we will discuss: 

  • Your current preferences and birth values 

  • Pain management and common interventions 

  • Induction methods and cesarean birth 

  • Newborn procedures 

  • How to talk about your birth plan with providers (midwife, OBGYN, nurses)
